# Where Alaska boroughs and cities post their bids

Alaska has no single place for local bids. Each borough, city, school district and utility posts on its own page or on a platform it has chosen, and several have moved in the last couple of years. This page lists where each one posts, what it costs to register and whether it will email you. Every row was read from the owner's own page on October 1, 2026.

## Three ways to keep track

- By hand. Bookmark the owners you bid and sign up for each one's email list. 25 of the 52 owners below have one. It costs nothing and works well for two or three owners. Past that it gets harder, because the owners without a list have to be checked by eye.

- Through the Alaska APEX Accelerator. Its [Bid Match](https://apexalaska.org/procurement-tools/bid-match/) service emails its clients each day, at no charge, the notices from federal, state and many local sites that match their NAICS codes and keywords.

- With a service that checks them for you. AK RFP Hub reads the owners marked Yes in the last column every day, along with State, DOT&PF and federal notices, reads each one against a description of your firm, and labels how well it fits. ## What trips people up

- Old bid pages that are still up. Fairbanks North Star Borough, Ketchikan Gateway Borough, Wasilla and Nome each still have a page that says there are no open bid postings, while their bids are posted on another platform. The City of Kenai's own page says it is no longer updated.

- Bid Express works differently from owner to owner. Anchorage pays the fees, so vendors view and bid free. The Kenai Peninsula Borough and Petersburg have a free account and charge to submit electronically. Haines charges to submit and takes no paper bids. Kenai, Soldotna and Sitka still take paper when the solicitation allows it.

- Plan holders lists. The North Slope Borough says a bid from a firm that is not on its plan holders list may be found non-responsive. Anchorage School District requires bidders to register with its Purchasing office. Wasilla keeps its list on DemandStar.

- Addenda. Sitka does not send them. Check the posting again before you bid.

- Bid Express: Municipality of Anchorage, Kenai Peninsula Borough, City of Kenai, City of Soldotna. Sitka, Haines, Petersburg and Homer list bids on their own sites and take them through Bid Express.

- BidNet Direct: Fairbanks North Star Borough, Interior Gas Utility.

- Euna Procurement (Bonfire): Matanuska-Susitna Borough, Bristol Bay Borough, University of Alaska.

- Public Purchase: City and Borough of Juneau.

- OpenGov: Ketchikan Gateway Borough.

- DemandStar: City of Wasilla.
