AK RFP HubWhere Alaska boroughs and cities post their bids
Last updated: October 1, 2026
Alaska has no single place for local bids. Each borough, city, school district and utility posts on its own page or on a platform it has chosen, and several have moved in the last couple of years. This page lists where each one posts, what it costs to register and whether it will email you. Every row was read from the owner's own page on October 1, 2026.
Three ways to keep track
- By hand. Bookmark the owners you bid and sign up for each one's email list. 25 of the 52 owners below have one. It costs nothing and works well for two or three owners. Past that it gets harder, because the owners without a list have to be checked by eye.
- Through the Alaska APEX Accelerator. Its Bid Match service emails its clients each day, at no charge, the notices from federal, state and many local sites that match their NAICS codes and keywords.
- With a service that checks them for you. AK RFP Hub reads the owners marked Yes in the last column every day, along with State, DOT&PF and federal notices, reads each one against a description of your firm, and labels how well it fits. The other services are compared here.
What trips people up
- Old bid pages that are still up. Fairbanks North Star Borough, Ketchikan Gateway Borough, Wasilla and Nome each still have a page that says there are no open bid postings, while their bids are posted on another platform. The City of Kenai's own page says it is no longer updated.
- Bid Express works differently from owner to owner. Anchorage pays the fees, so vendors view and bid free. The Kenai Peninsula Borough and Petersburg have a free account and charge to submit electronically. Haines charges to submit and takes no paper bids. Kenai, Soldotna and Sitka still take paper when the solicitation allows it.
- Plan holders lists. The North Slope Borough says a bid from a firm that is not on its plan holders list may be found non-responsive. Anchorage School District requires bidders to register with its Purchasing office. Wasilla keeps its list on DemandStar.
- Addenda. Sitka does not send them. Check the posting again before you bid.

What AK RFP Hub covers from this list
Of the 52 owners above, AK RFP Hub reads 31 directly. Another 7 reach the feed through BidNet's Alaska list, which gives a title, dates and a link, and does not always carry every notice. The remaining 14 are not collected yet. You can see what is open now for Anchorage, Mat-Su and the Kenai Peninsula without an account, or on the map.
If a row here is out of date, write to kai@akrfp.com and it will be fixed.
Common questions
How do I keep track of bids across Alaska boroughs and cities without checking every site?
There are three ways. Sign up for each owner's own email list: 25 of the 52 owners on this page have one, and it is free. Become a client of the Alaska APEX Accelerator, whose Bid Match service emails matched solicitations each day at no charge. Or use a service that checks the owners for you, such as AK RFP Hub, which reads 31 of these owners directly every day along with State, DOT&PF and federal notices.
Which Alaska boroughs and cities post bids on Bid Express?
The Municipality of Anchorage, the Kenai Peninsula Borough, the City of Kenai and the City of Soldotna list their bids on Bid Express. Sitka, Haines, Petersburg and Homer list bids on their own websites and take them through Bid Express. Anchorage pays the fees so vendors bid free; Haines charges to submit and takes no paper bids.
Where does the Fairbanks North Star Borough post its bids?
On BidNet Direct, in the Alaska Purchasing Group. A free Limited Access registration is enough for documents and email notices. The older page at fnsb.gov/Bids.aspx says there are no open postings.
